Faces of Fashion: Chol Khan

Chol Khan’s story is the stuff of fashion legends. Leaving her native South Sudan with her family at an early age, the Kahns settled in Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya (the same ground that produced supers like Iman, Adut Akech and Alek Wek). In 2023, she was scouted by Isis Models, a model agency working with UNHCR and the Kenyan government to spotlight talent from the camp. Two years on, Khan graced the runways of heavyweights like Thom Browne, Hermès and Schiaparelli.

Leigh Bowery! Tate Modern Unveils a Bold Tribute to the Iconic Performer

Tate Modern’s latest exhibition, Leigh Bowery! chronicles the late performer’s artistic practice in 80s and 90s London, and brings to the fore Bowery’s undeniable influence on pop culture as we know it today. “As an artist, he embodies much of what Tate Modern exists for, really; performance, reinvention, experimentation — in short, reimagining ways of seeing the world,” said Karin Hindsbo, Director of Tate Modern, as we embarked on a tour of the curated space.

An Odyssey of the Greek Islands

Multimedia artist Konstantin Kakanias and shoe designer Christian Louboutin have been close friends for 35 years. The duo’s newest collaboration, the GREEKABA capsule collection, combines their mutual love of travel with the rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship of Kakanias’ native Greece and it also encapsulates the duo’s playful sense of humour, which the artist regards as an important means of expression since it provides consumers of both art and fashion with perspective.
